Let Go

We have now entered a New Year and a brand new decade, so it is time to decide what to take with you and what to let go of.  A New Year always brings the idea of making resolutions of things that you want to do or change in your life. Still, I believe it is just as important to take a closer look at the things that might hold you back if you don't leave them behind.

I like to suggest that you take a walk on the beach and find a quiet spot to dig a hole in the sand where you can bury little thoughts of things that you want to leave behind.  You can use a shell, a rock, or any item as a symbol of the thought. I am a big believer that if you speak your thoughts out loud, and then put them in the hole to be buried it brings more of a lasting impact and significance.

You don't need to live near the beach to do this exercise.  Thoughts can be buried in the snow, in a pile of rocks, in a lake, in the dirt, or even by throwing them into a bonfire.  The point is that you are taking the time to come up with things that might have affected your life this past year in terms of pain, suffering, loss, heartache, setbacks, worry, fear, or anything that might hold you back from having your best year ahead.

Regardless of whether or not these things that are weighing you down were emotional, spiritual, physical, environmental, or social, they are indeed an extra burden that will keep you from living the wonderful life you have been working so hard for.  Your thoughts, your health, your surroundings, and the people in your life should all be in line with your ultimate goals.

My hope is that you find your own way to make sure that you are starting this New Year off in a very productive way by only taking with you the good things that came into your life.  Leave behind the things that will slow you down from stepping into a brand New Year of living your most balanced and beautifulife ever!

My affirmation for you this week is;

“I will take the time to confront the circumstances in my life that do not serve me in a positive way for my future and will let them all go in order to freely move on.”

Happy New Year
