What would the world be like if everyone was just a bit more kind not only to people we know but to people we don’t know? I can tell you that based on my experience, you will get much more cooperation from others and will see better results in terms of getting things done when you are nice to people, especially if you are wanting them to help you with something. You will also be able to help someone have a more beautiful day if you extend a nice smile, gesture or kind words.
It is just as important to be kind to those closest to you as it is to those you know from work or social circles. It is much harder to be kind to people that don’t necessarily go out of their way to be nice to you or to others. We all know individuals who have a hard time smiling or when they do smile, you know it is a stretch for them. Remember, there is a good chance that the person is struggling with something behind the scenes. The best way to respond to individuals like this is to put on a big smile, extend kindness and know that you might just help them change their disposition.
It is obvious that being kind can have wonderful results for others, but more and more research shows that being kind can have a very positive effect on us in the following ways;
- Not only will we feel better, but it can make us stronger
- We will be much happier people
- We can experience more success in life
- We are generally more calm, clear thinking and full of love
- Being kind can result in more optimism and less anxiety
- We will have quality relationships with people and a more open mind
- Being kind can contribute to a greater sense of self worth
It is not easy to be kind 100% of the time, but if you surround yourself with nice people you will most likely be encouraged to stay on top of your game or as some would say - put your game face on. The result of being unkind could potentially have a deep, hurtful impact that you may not ever see, but the emotional damage could last a lifetime. A simple act of kindness just might be impactful enough to really make a difference in someone’s life. I know for sure that being kind will be another step forward in creating your most balanced and beautifulife!
