Be Content

Why is it so important that we find a way to be content in life?  Why is it that so many people have such discontentment?  Being discontent leads to unhappiness, anxiety, conflict and overall problems in our own lives and also in our relationships.

We live in a society that places big demands on ourselves, our children and our relationships.  There is information overload and ways to accomplish so much more in such a small period of time and it seems like it is a never-ending ferris wheel that is hard to get off.  You may be someone who is constantly striving for more or different or better, yet never seem to be grateful and content with the things you already have.  When was the last time you stopped and looked around to appreciate everything in your life and to say I am content, I am grateful and I am happy?

I am a big believer in always having dreams and goals, but I am also a big believer that true success is finding happiness.  How do you find happiness?   It is when you open your heart and mind to understand that everything really is o.k and to give thanks and gratitude for all that you have and for the people that are in your life.

We have all witnessed people that are constantly stressing out about where they think they should be or why they are not further along towards accomplishing certain goals.  They are bummed out that they have not accomplished more already and it seems that they continue to miss out, so to speak, on the important moments that are happening right in front of them, moments that should be cultivated and cherished.

These are the same people that continue to experience certain problems in life and it seems, at times, their world around them starts to tumble and crumble.  Yes, they continue on but if you have noticed, they leave behind remnants of broken pieces that can’t be put back together and some of these happen to be relationships and people that have been affected.

I can’t stress enough the importance of having this delicate balance between determination, going for the goal and being content with what you already have.  I encourage you to take a closer look at your own life and how you can learn to be content as well as to encourage others to do the same.  Contentment is an extremely important aspect of living your most balanced beautifulife.

My affirmation for you this week is;

“I am content, I am grateful and I am happy with who I am and with all that I have in my life”
