Who are the people in your life that make so many things happen behind the scenes? These are the real heroes that help to make everyday run smoothly and effortlessly, yet so rarely get noticed for what they do. These are the people that are not in the spotlight but yet make things better in so many ways for us and for others. I bet if you start really thinking about it, you will come up with a very long list of the people that I call the hidden heroes of our lives.
Of course when tragedy occurs we do recognize the heroes that step up to help in so many ways and it warms our hearts to see people come together in a time of need. But lets also try to be better at remembering and recognizing people that do a great job of making the little and big things happen that matter most to us everyday! Some of the people that come to mind are; volunteers, teachers, behind the scenes staff members, cleaners, telephone operators, book keepers, drivers, utility workers, waste haulers, builders, contractors etc...I could go on and on.
Now, more than ever, I believe we need to pull together and appreciate everyone that plays a role in how our individual lives function everyday. Each of us needs to make an effort to stop, look around and take notice of the real movers and shakers behind the scenes. Then, take the time to give a smile, a hug or just a very genuine thank you to the people that may not hear those words as often as they need to.
Make a list of your hidden heroes and come up with creative ways to express gratitude, whether it is a big shout out or a card of thanks - I’m sure you will make someone’s day better and brighter and will be one step closer to helping others and yourself enjoy the beautifulife!
