Roots to Fruits

What are your roots?  What kind of fruit do you bear?  I ask this because I believe firmly in the fact that the foundation that was created for you as a young person can determine your outcome in life in so many ways. This is indeed where your roots begin. I also, however, believe that if your foundation was not as stable as it should or could have been for whatever reason, you could change the outcome, but it takes time, effort and commitment to do so.

Everything starts with a foundation including an idea, a business, a building and most importantly a life.  The foundation then grows to become all that it was meant to be, but the outcome varies dramatically based on how stable that foundation was in the very beginning.  This is why I believe it is so important to think through everything and to be prepared before introducing an idea, launching a business, constructing a building and especially raising a family.

It is indeed a simple formula to follow, and it goes like this;

  1. Your roots become your values - what is important to you.
  2. Your values determine your priorities - what you put first and foremost in life.
  3. Your priorities influence your decisions - good or bad.
  4. Your decisions determine your outcome - who you are and where you land.

Ok, so this is great stuff to know for people just starting out building a family, a business or something new, but what if you never had that great foundation as a child and want to change the outcome of who you have become?  Good question, here is my answer.

First of all, know that it is never too late to change who you are, what you believe and what your outcome is today.  There is always room to improve, grow and learn a new way of thinking and doing, regardless of what you were taught by example or maybe even not taught at all.  You need to start by taking a look at your life, your attitude, your desires, your thoughts, and your feelings.

Ask yourself the following questions.  Are you happy, fulfilled and exuding positivity?  Are people drawn to you or are you lacking the confidence, good energy, and aura that attracts the right people into your life?  Are you prospering in all areas, and ultimately heading in the direction that you desire for having your most beautifulife?

The first step to changing an outcome is to recognize the very thing that needs to change and then to accept it, affirm to yourself that you will replace it for the better, claim that change and watch the transformation in your life happen every single day!  Remember, your roots become your fruits, but you have all the power within you to make sure they are the best fruits which are - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

My affirmation for you this week is;

“I will take a good look at my life to ensure that my roots are producing beautiful fruits as my gift to the world and to those around me.”
